Lane County government should establish policy on how its employees handle cash, the county’s auditor recommended after vetting money management at county parks.
For example, rules should make it clear that the same worker must not be responsible for both depositing and reconciling any cash brought in through sales, county performance auditor Shanda Miller said.
“If (a single person) has complete oversight of the process, there is just the risk for them to divest that cash,” she said. …
